Gujarat Lions was a franchise cricket team that represented the state of Gujarat in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team was formed in 2016 and played for two seasons before being replaced by the returning team, Rajasthan Royals. The Gujarat Lions played their home matches at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot and the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Gujarat Lions had a strong start to their IPL campaign, finishing the group stage at the top of the table in their debut season. However, they couldn't replicate the same success in the playoffs, bowing out in the Qualifier 1 against the eventual champions, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
